The Pop Up Flea is a short-term store for long-term goods. It’s a shop that opens one weekend at a time and a meeting of the menswear minds. It involves, in no specific order: good people, better things, expert craftsmanship, exercises in refinement, brands you love, up-and-coming designers, and menswear done right. Each time we host a Pop Up Flea event, we select a roster of elite participating brands and open a dream department store to the public for one weekend. Vendors are given free reign to design their own miniature shop, bring merchandise that is hard to find elsewhere and show up to peddle their wares and meet their fans. The Pop Up Flea was born in 2009, and like most successful ventures, it started over cocktails.

The Freshmen

Meet this year's newcomers at PUFNYC

Five years after our first event, this weekend's show in NYC still marks the proverbial first day of school for many fresh-faced PUF brands.

Whether they're brand new brands, or just new to the Flea itself, we'll be joined by over twenty first timers for PUFNYC. The Class of 2014 includes stores like London local's Albam, who is bringing their British-made classics to the U.S. for the first time at Pop Up Flea. Also, Minneapolis' menswear mecca Askov Finlayson, with their house line and a few third party goods in tow. There will also be all sorts of vintage rarities from Procell, The William Brown Project, and Lot, Stock & Barrel, and high-quality housewares by TRNK, who is designing the Cafe & Lounge on site, and Surname Goods. We'll have young guns like Waltzing Matilda and certified icons like Woolrich. The rookie roster boasts brands of all age and size, but they all satisfy PUF's requirement for unusually well-made goods, sold by good people, no matter what that stuff may be. And yes, this year that even extends to our food selection, with eats from Tacombi, Emmett's, El Rey, Nourish Kitchen, and Parlor Coffee. All of whom are new to PUF, and all of whom offer up some seriously delicious dishes. So, come by this weekend to meet PUF's Freshman class in person. We're open at 125 West 18th Street (between 6th and 7th aves) 3-8 on Friday, 11-7 on Saturday, and 12-6 on Sunday. See you this weekend.
