PUF would like to talk to you about the chair you’re sitting in right now. No doubt it’s a fine chair. However, should you find yourself in need of another—perhaps one a bit more substantial and rare—then turn your attention to this beauty from 3sixteen in collaboration with Herman Miller. This limited edition version of the iconic Eames lounger and ottoman will be debuting at PUF this weekend.

The custom sets (only three were made) feature a natural vegetable-tanned leather upholstery that will darken over time paired with a hand-oiled santos palisander wood veneer shell. The color harkens back to Eames’ original idea to design a chair that looked like “a well-used first baseman’s mitt.” Given that the leather was chosen precisely because it will exhibit “drastic wear” over time, each will develop a patina that make it unlike any other Eames.

And because PUF always appreciates a good meet-cute, know that the collaboration between the youngish, raw denim company 3sixteen and design giant Herman Miller began over a year ago when a Herman Miller employee bought a 3sixteen denim jacket and began emailing with the brand about it. After mutual fandom was revealed, the project took shape.

The end result: It’s where you want to be sitting.
